So far this summer, I found that this quote keeps resonating in my head; “You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart will always be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place.”
Not only am I finding myself counting out 6 hours ahead of my time to see what time it is for my best friend in Spain, but I now also count 13 hours ahead to see what part of the day it is for my bro in Japan.
My one and only brother, Alex, is in the military and just deployed to Japan and won’t be returning to the U.S. until November (and I miss him already). My brother’s passion (besides baseball, hunting, and beer drinking) is helping people. He started as a rescue volunteer, graduated from college with a fire science degree, enlisted in the military, went to basic training, and came back home and got a job at the local hospital. He has the biggest heart, and I so admire him.

Anyway, I thought this was a perfect opportunity to talk about my favorite person on this earth. My brother and I have been through it all, he knows me better than other person, and I don’t know where I would be without him in my life. My best friend, partner in crime, and twin soul.
Already looking forward to celebrating upon your return home…and embarrassing you at the airport 😉 Love you bro…stay safe and have fun xoxo
