Drink Vermont Beer

Remember how I said I was a complete waste of life yesterday? Well that could not be more opposite of how my day went today. I. Kicked. Monday’s. Ass.

…which only means I’m going to have a great week ahead.

I woke up at 7 AM, put the final coat of sealant on the desk I have been painting, made a grocery list, did some stuff around the house, went to ‘Butts & Guts’ at the Y, went grocery shopping, dropped my old phone off at the post office (thank god my new 6 came in), went to TJ Maxx and got some much “needed” stuff for the house, had lunch, cleaned the f**k out of the ENTIRE house —> had to text my mom and give her props…I never knew how long it takes to clean a whole house, made dinner, managed to eat completely Vegan today, made my breakfast/lunch/dinner for tomorrow since I am working a 15 hour day, took the best shower of my life, and NOW here I am. Finally in bed. And finally in the AC. Get some.

Anyway, I wanted to tell you about my weekend! Friday afternoon we headed up to VT for a much needed getaway. We had tickets to the Vermont Brewers Festival on Saturday and couldn’t wait to get up there. If you have never been, and are a craft beer lover, I would highly recommend going to this festival! It is right on the Lake Champlain Waterfront in Burlington, there are great vendors, beer, and usually a killer sunset if you go to the night session like we did!

The entire week leading up to Saturday I had probably checked my Weather Channel App 200 times. The forecast was calling for rain, and I was going to be pissed. My Uncle said “it would be raining outside but sunny on our insides” HA! I thought that was great. But the Beer Gods answered our prayers and we had sunshine, no rain, and perfect weather. AMEN.

Before the festival started at 5:30, we were able to meet up with my parents and sister Maddie for a late lunch/early dinner at Farmhouse Tap & Grill. One of my favorite new (ish) restaurants in Burlington. AND one of my best friends is a chef there so it made it even better that I got to see him! Even if it was only for two minutes.

After our meal, which was bomb, we parted ways and headed down to the waterfront! This year our group consisted of myself, my Uncle Shawn (this was our third Brew Fest we had together) and my dad.

Uncle Shawn and I. Top left was 2011, Bottom left 2013, and the right photo was this year, 2015!

The selfie on the right is me and my dad! I always love photos from Brew Fest…beer happy faces

I also got to see some of my favorite friends at Brew Fest this year. Needless to say, the evening was filled with lots of hugs, catching up, and toasts!

Love these girls. Lauren on the left is coming to see me this weekend! And Jackie on the right is my fellow blogger bud, and the only girl I can talk to these days about our Vegan lifestyle goals. I wish this chick lived closer to me! ❤

After Brew Fest was over, I had to stop at Big Daddy’s Pizza to get my drunk ass a slice before heading back to the cabin.

(As you read in last night’s post) the next day was not very fun for me…maybe I had one too many eight percenters at the festival. The highlight of my day was going to the Phat Italian in Killington for my classic ziti with red sauce, and a strawberry banana smoothie combo that I am convinced cures my hangovers. Pathetic

Before we headed back home, we stopped at our buddy’s house and met his 9 week old baby Rottweiler, Hemi! I died of happiness and almost took the little guy home with us, even though Onyx got wicked jealous when I was holding him…he is such a mama’s boy (and I love it)

Another great summer weekend in the books for us. Detoxing all week preparing for the upcoming weekend shenanigans…… Cheers ! xxxx
