As promised, here is my (new favorite) BBQ Tempeh recipe. I served these with Baked Beans (recipe coming soon), grilled corn on the cobb, kale cesar salad, and grilled brussel sprouts with a tahini yogurt sauce. Why is summer food so good?!
I recommend grilling these tempeh strips, but feel free to bake or sauté them as well . . . it’s really all about the sauce anyway . . . which you’re going to love ❤
*and of course I tripled this recipe when I made it!*
Ingredients
-1 package tempeh, cut into desired sized strips
-1 Cup BBQ Sauce of choice
-3 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
-2 Tablespoons tamari, liquid aminos, or soy sauce – I used tamari
-1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Directions
-Add all of the ingredients to a bowl & allow to sit & marinade for as long as possible
-Place the tempeh cuts directly on the grill & cook them, flipping once, until they are browned (not burned), & caramelized (but not crispy)
-This will take about 5 – 10 minutes total, depending on your grill
-Using a grill brush, use the extra sauce to brush onto the tempeh
-Serve warm
